Coach Howell has been a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association for over 40 years and founded the Georgia Professional Tennis Association. He has been highly nationally ranked, selected Tennis Professional of the Year on four occasions, and inducted into four different Tennis Hall of Fames. He was MVP and Captain of his Vanderbilt Tennis Team in 1970-71. His Oglethorpe 2016 Men’s team captured its first SAA Conference Championship and also had his first players selected All-American from Oglethorpe University! He leads a great staff consisting of other college coaches and collegiate players. Coach Howell is hands on in leading drills, strategy sessions, and critiquing match play and takes a personal interest in each camper regardless of their level of play – beginner or advanced.

Oglethorpe Alum Felix Mann is returning to camp for his ninth year as our Head Instructor in 2017. Felix is the Associate Head Tennis Coach at University of the South, where he leads the nationally ranked Tigers. He coached 5 All-Americans the last two years at Sewanee. He was formally the Head Men and Women's Tennis Coach at Division III Averett University where he built a solid program. He got his start in college coaching as the assistant coach at Rhodes College for two years after graduating from Oglethorpe. He was a two time 1st Team All-Conference player for the Stormy Petrels. He brings eight years of experience of working at the Peter Howell Tennis Camps and we are very excited to have him back!
Paul Danielson, Assistant Coach Oglethorpe University, returns for his second year working with Coach Howell. Paul is the former Director of Tennis at Blackburn Tennis Center. He was later affiliated with Universal Tennis Academy before joining the Oglethorpe Staff. Paul & Felix will head a staff of college players serving as counselors.
